just go to any parts store look up a filter for one of the 2.2 or 2.5 k cars. they are much shorter.

If you need shorter and smaller diameter you can use a Neon oil filter. I use toyota oil filters on my motors since I work at a toyota dealer.

Fram number to cross referance to a good filter go like this but please do not use a fram.

PH8a is a big filter both in diameter and length and if possible this is the size to use.
Ph16 is the shorter version but it is still big around
PH3614 is the neon style filter and has a small diameter and short length.
I think the PH3600 will fit also and is long and skinney.

All 3 of the first filters use the same diameter oring and thread size so they will all work as far as atatching to your motor. I know the PH3600 uses the same diameter seal and I am 90% sure the threads are the same. Been 10 years since I worked at wal-mart but remember the numbers still

Just promise not to actually use the fram filter, just use the number for cross-referancing.

Dave I thought this too but last time I was at autozone picking up a filter they listed ph43 for the small block. Wonder what the different is?
