I'm looking for the door jam, dome light switch with the three pin plug. Rather than the one or two flat blade plugs ins. Anyone know where to get this? The switch in question is on the drivers side only on my car. Why? Who knows!
Thanks

They did that to isolate grounding for key in ignition buzzers, time delay lights and other fancy stuff. You can isolate the grounds using diodes and sharing a lug on a two lug switch. It was cheaper for the factory to make a three lug switch than add a couple of diodes to keep the circuits from talking to each other. Also lowered the parts count and increased the time before failure.
To hook them up, get a female lug of the same size as the switch. Hook the two cathode ends of 1N4001 diodes to the lug and hook each anode end (the one with the white stripe next to it) to each of the two wires from the harness. You can get the diodes or a substitute from Radio Shack. Total cost of all the lugs, spades and diodes will be less than ten bucks.

I thought thats was because of the map light option. i found one on ebay last year way less than that. that guy is trying to bend someome over. Anyway they are hard to come by. Advance sells one but it has blades instead of pins. the other hard part is finding one wit the larger size hex nut. i have been thinking about either welding the hole up smaller and taping it or just drill another hole and use the smaller one. of course this wouldn't work if u are doing a 100 point restore. just my

As far as i know no one sells new ones that are the pin type.Used is probably your only option.71 b-bodies also used these. Not sure about 72 b-bodies though.

WOW, these are a bit steep!

I'll try to look around a bit first, but this could be the only way I can go. And yes I do want it as close to original as possible.
