I am building a street car for my wife, and have already purchased the tubular CAP k-frame from a private party, but, I just wanted to get some feedback (Good, bad, in-different) from some of you that may have used these parts that CAP offers. Thanks in advance!!

seen too many issues with those. there was a thread here a while back with a set of their arms that cracked at the weld. thats not good. there was also a thread at fabo about how poorly made their k-frame was built. cracked at the steering box, was not built square either. there are too many other places that build good quality products to take a chance on that cap garbage.

I have their upper arms on my car, they are good as long as you don't bounce your car off a curb doing something stupid like the guy in the other thread.

I cant say as i have a set of these, but all the reports i have had on these is that they are top notch, and they look extremely well engineered and welded.

I know the company owner personally, have raced with him at several Classic events and he is a super nice and very knowledgable guy.
This setup is on his 9.50 ish 65/66 yellow dart that he races extensively.

Having seen the parts( and their quality) and knowing the nature of the guy who builds them, i would have zero problems stating i would buy and enjoy having his setup in a heartbeat.

I also doubt such a big a Mopar community vendor as Mancini would sell his stuff if they had had issues with these reported to them by the many customers running them...

I bought a set of his upper A arms and he assured me they would fit a 73 A body, they didn't I then contacted him and told him they would not fit and sent photos to show what the problems were. He then stated that he would give me a full refund and I sent them back, once he had them back he said they were installed and therefore he could only give me 50% back. I ended up paying shipping both ways and only 1/2 of the cost back. The guy is a flake and I would advise anyone to steer clear of his junk. Just my Opinion.

I got one of the early ones that they built for me and it was unpainted. So it was easy to see all the problems with it. I did not like it so I sent it back. He sent me a new one WITH ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS, so I sent that one back too. I will admit I am VERY picky when it comes to my life AND wrecking something that took 2 years of my life to build. He was nice enough to return my money in full though.

Could you get into what it is/was that you didn't like? I'm very interested as I'm going to be buying someones front end kit. I'm leaning towards Bondos kit, but haven't seen a lot of feedback as I don't think it's been available for too long.

are they a sponsor in that magazine? did they give the magazine a system for free?

questions have to be asked to confirm credibility.

the guy in the other thread stated that they were driving down the street and the broken weld caused the crash.

too many other vendors out there to buy from that you have never heard a bad thing about to risk using that cap stuff.

I've seen Bondo's stuff first hand at the swap meet and it is (at least to my untrained eye) very good stuff.

There was also a great video they did with the camera pointed at the suspension while the car was going down the track at full steam. Very impressive.

If I had the $$$$ I would be hard pressed to buy anything else.

not going to get any arguements from me that Bondo makes great stuff

that said, the original poster did say it was a street car, and last i knew, Bobs frontends werent designed to be run on the street, and i believe require welding.maybe he has changed that setup to be street friendly but last i saw it wasnt..but i could be wrong..

Thanks for the response so far, keep em' coming.

Here is my dilemma, the car that I am building is a 1964 Valiant, which, of course, means that I would need a specific front end, un-like the "Normal" 67-76 A-body stuff.

P.S. I must have used the word "Streetcar" lightly, as this little puppy will have a 426" small block, with a single hair dryer, on pump gas. It will be very streetable, but, when it goes to the track, on occasion, I certainly want everything to be stable and top notch.

The K frame did not hit the car frame square. The bolt holes did not line up. The attaching bolts might have crushed the tubes. Where the LCA pivot pins seated was all buggered up from the welding, the welds were too hot on one area underneath where they just overwelded a large area, the welds were of poor quality, steering box attaching bolts interferance and some more stuff I cannot remember. Just too much when you add it all up.......

You know Sloan don't you?? He saw them and pretty much agreed with me. TOO much risk for the possible gain. I ended up using all stock control arms after cleaning and inspection and even the HD adjustable strut rods from Firm feel etc on my front end. FACTORY engineering I can trust. Sure I gave up some weight reduction but, oh well.

Come down off a big wheely, crack something and then when you let off after the finish line and hit the wall at 130+. Not my idea of fun.

Ronald Silva.

I have a set of CAP's upper controll arms that have been on the car for 3 season's and numerous wheelie's with some being not so soft a landings, with out a single problem, I think his upper control arm's are a good product,I have no experience with any of his other stuff.

Belive what you want, as they say there are two sides to every story. I know several cars that run them and have no problems what so ever. They are rece parts and should be used as such.

BTW do you have a race car?

They hold up well when used properly.

This is my buddy Ross' car and he has been abuseing his CAP control arms this way for the last 3 seasons.
