I like the idea Jake. I had always expected to use a rustproofing wand ,or something similar, for those hard to reach places.
What would I pay for a tool? I guess it depends on what the tool is. If it's a piece of rubber hose, not much. If it's a quality, American made tool, more.
This will be a quality American made tool far superior to what I've seen as being available on the market today and will be easy to clean also. There will likely be two versions for supplying the 150 psi required for atomization but in general it will be very simple to use and care for. I'll have something put together hopefully by the end of the week with results proven by a test through a piece of clear pvc pipe and square tube if available. I'll post a video of the test when I've got it working properly. Thanks for the feedback-Jake

Yes, most will be acceptable as far as viscosity. I have several levels of kits I'm thinking of but they will be customizable if you tell me what you want to spray. The great thing will be that it will be atomized with liquid pressure only (No Air) meaning less "fog" and as I said, the kit will allow multiple rates of application. Let me know what you want to spray and I'll test and tune. Thank you for the interest-Jake

I used a syringe and vinyl tubing to 'pour' paint/sealer (I used POR15) at the inner 1/4s to outer 1/4's crease. Worked fine
I do lke the POR15 for it's "traveling" capabilities. This will be for essentially fogging inside of areas not accessable otherwise. It would also work for your application.

Jake, will your tool accept any type of fluid/coating? What will be the price for one of them?
Sorry, I forgot to respond to the price question. I don't know for sure but it won't be too bad. I should have an idea by mid next week. I ordered most of what I need for the prototype today so I should have one working soon.-Jake

Jake, I like the idea, but how would your kit differ from available rust prevention sprayers that use wands and flexible hoses to spray the fluid into nooks and crannys? Here's an example of what I'm talking about: http://www.eastwood.com/rustproofing-and-undercoating-system.htmlLooking forward to your kit and the video.

This system will be easier to get the entire frame coated and it will center itself in the rail. The nozzle I'm using will be better capable of a spray gun like atomization of the coating therefore reducing waste and mess. I'm pretty sure I'll be including a camera with all of the kits as I've been able to source them pretty cheap. With the camera, you'll be able to inspect before you start so as to be able to make a decision on what product will best suit your needs. Also, when you're done you'll be able to verify complete coverage. I've got most of what I need to build the prototype so hopefully I'll have the rest before the weekend so I can start building it. Thanks for the interest and keep feedback coming. It's hard to think of everything so I'd like to build this based on consumer experience.

I'm sorry, I've been busy with... Anyway, I do have a prototype in action and it does spay like I had hoped-almost. I have to work on the nozzle design a bit but it should be pretty awesome when it's done. Hang with me while I get some of my other ducks in a row. Business first! I'll try to get some pics and or video of it at least showing the spray pattern soon. Thanks for the interest-Jake
