I tried installing my MP valve covers tonight. I can barely get the bolts started as the covers+gaskets are too thick. I'm using the felpro rubber gaskets and ARP bolts. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and are there thinner gaskets that would help?

Do you have the bolts for cast aluminum covers? They tend to be longer than bolts designed for stamped covers.

I had to get the longer bolts when I put my cast covers on.

Ditto on needing longer bolts or studs. IIRC, thread size is 1/4-20. Depending on your intake, sometimes there's also interference at the runners.

I used allen head cap screws in mine. Much eaiser than using a socket wrench.
