Hello everybody. Need a little help trying to figure out what tires they used on a Hemi Dart when they left the Hurst plant.

The front tires had a part number of 2834950. They were a D70x14 Black wall tire but were they Firestone, Goodyear's or BFGs??

The Back tires had a part number of 2462274. They were a 7.75x15 Black wall tire and I don't know what brand of tire those were either.

What do you think???

Hi David, hope all is well with you. I was thinking Good year but what model would they be?? Speedways??? Are they Red or Blue dots that were turned around???

Here is the best picture I have of an original rear tire and I just can't pick anything off of it that is legible.

The D70-14 was the minimum size required on Darts & Barracudas with disc brakes & I'd "assume" they were blackwall "SPEEDWAY"s.

Do you have any other pics, front or rear & any showing tread?

The 7.75-15 were probably blackwall "POWER CUSHION"s.

I doubt they would've turned a more costly "blue dot" or "red stripe" around. They were just cheap "rollers".

Hi Dan

Yes, this is an original photo. How in the heck did you get that photo to the point where you could read all that!?!?

These scans are from a Goodyear Jan. '72 Discontinued Tires sheet.

I believe these would be the rears. **** 7.75-15 POWER CUSHION (BL)

edit Actually I don't think these are the rear tires I was going to ask if they would've mixed polyester and nylon tires on the same car. Size and name are correct, just an earlier version "2 Ply nylon POWER CUSHION"

From KELSEY TIRE's website:
Quote:

All non-Corvette O.E. 775/15 applications were fitted with the Goodyear Power Cushion broad market tire. Although identical in design optics, this tire carried inflated dimensions resulting in a taller O.D. and narrower inflated section width and tread radius.

Construction:2-ply nylon tubeless.

I think the tire you'd be looking for is this nylon "Power Cushion broad market tire".

NOT the tire shown/listed below

Was there a picture of the fronts?

I'm guessing the D70-14 (BL) was previously discontinued, I'll look some more.

....I never had a picture of the front up there. I don't have a good picture of the fronts. I have one other picture that I will post later with some info on it.

I'll tell ya, I don't know what to do with this car when it comes to tires. It is a clone car, it will make 520hp (472 with headers and small roller cam) but I want it to look like it did when it left Hurst.

Lets think about this.....510hp and 11.5" of rear rubber. That will make plenty of

I doubt anyone with a new Super Stock Dart or Barracuda tried to make a serious 1/4-mile pass with the 7.75-15s.

Sounds like you'll need (at least) two sets of rear tires!

Someone late last night posted a current picture of a front tire on a Dart. But then deleted the post. It was Super Streak or something. Have no idea what car it was from. The poster was from Canada, but I forgot his username.

This should shead a little light on things....You might have to down load it and then blow it up.

Can't get anything from the pic.
Do have a couple questions from the change order.

Just a guess here but could 2539093 could be the part number for the 8 3/4 4:86 rear.
If that were the case, 0/W order with 2539093 could mean order the 4:86 8/34.
QTY 4 (in the same column) would mean the 4 6:95-14 BSW tires which would come with the 8 3/4 rear.
2834948 could be the part number for the 9 3/4 4:88 Dana , thus 0/W ordering with 2834948 would get you QTY 2 (in the same column) 2 tires D-70-14 on the front and 15's on the dana rear.

Hi Dan.
Yes, that is a 4" bolt circle rim....that is why that number is in the DELETE column. They used 4.5 bolt circle front and rear wheels on these cars.

O/W???? I'm not sure either....still working on it.

Thanks for trying to read that photo, it was worth a shot.
