OK I have a gentleman looking for some parts for a 71 B body, a 3 speed wiper switch being one of them. I have pulled a couple here (see pic)from 71-4 B clusters with the # 3488766. I searched ebay for a baseline price, and see this switch listed for E body (correct for 72-4 the ad says) I looked up the part for all 4 years B or E and come up with 2 different #'s, both of which seemed to go straight NLS, not superceding. Is this switch goint to be right for him? I just want to be sure I send the right stuff. (I think it is correct)

So the # on the B body one you have is 3488043? The one I have pictured is what I wonder then...it goes off, click click click like a 3 speed should.

yours would be a 72-74 w rallye gauges
part number 3621672 casting number 3488766 sop
(sop= stamped on part)
note b and e do not interchange due to pole lenth

Perfect thanks. The pole length is an issue that makes sense, the guys on ebay are trying to flog the B body 72-4 as an E body one for $$$ go figure.

as said in another post
there are those who choose not look it up in the parts book.

that is why I made this post. I believe the one I have should then "work" in a 71, just not look correct, as the pole length does fit in the 71 cluster.

the big round ones you have are not 3 speeds, are VARIABLE speed. Turn it and will find only have one click, the on/off one, and then a continuous fade up to top

the first pic is three speeds 72/74 ( not anymore variable available )... just some earliers 72 that came out with 71 switch. 74 came out with diff PN I think but same switch

I don't have in hands right now the 71 variable I have around but I'm pretty sure the longer one is 71 B body by the PN I remember.

What is the correct application for a 3-speed wiper switch with part number 3488765 stamped on the body? I have a #3488766 switch and am trying to find out if they are interchangeable. The #3488766 I have was out of a '73 Charger SE w/ Rallye gauges.

^ haha 72-4 non rallye gauge B body I am pretty sure.

Funny, I am looking up that right now and find this post with google, a post I made in '08 with the username I had for a long time... but quit using because I forgot the password or something.

(I know it is an old dead thread...)
