Is a trans brake like a clutch pedal for a automatic trans?

Have some questions as to if they are the same as a Neutral dropping , and do you still require a stall speeed?

It would be sorta like dumping the clutch... but only
if you have a nice stall in the converter

It pretty much applies reverse and low at the same time. It does this with trapped fluid pressure, when you let off the button it simply releases the reverse gear. It doesnt shock the bands, gears or clutches too bad cause they are already applied.

Much nicer than a clutch and a whole lot less work than a Clutchflite.Those were very violent.Worked well but part killers.

The best way to understand it initially, is that its basically just as it states... A brake inside the transmission. While you're at the line, instead of braking with the wheels, the transmission holds itself. you're still up against the stall speed of the converter.

just like mentioned above..it enguages first gear and reverse...
which locks it in place..everything is loaded inside the trans..sans the ringear
you could consider it like chaining your car to a tree..puting it in first gear and pulling the chain.....the chain holds you there...
if you drop the chain and the car launches....its that basic pricipal......

you can put what ever amount of rpm you want at the stage...
its only based/limited by your converters stall rpm..

if you have a fast car..have your head/neck ready
it can suprise you..

More fun than foot braking but you'll find the next weak link in drive train.
