Are you guys using the hard lines specifically for the headers or are you using stock bent lines? I am just curious because when I added the TTi's to my 340 Challenger, I used my original steel lines on the radiator and at the tranny but I had to cut the middle 16" or so out of each one and use rubber "tranny cooler" lines to reroute without touching the headers or the steering link. I would love to go back to using all steel but the rubber is working just fine.

Mine are hard all the way, they were not specified for headers when purchased if i recall correctly, like i said, some very minor clearance tweaks, fit great!

I got tired of trying to fit hard lines around hearers and adding trans coolers, this time around I went to braided lines, it was so much easier.
i can see where that would work good and look good too.

I searched thru all my old posts, and my pics of my lines have been purged. I have a Challenger with a small block, and TTI headers. What I did was install 2 bulkhead connectors in the radiator support, and plumb hard lines from there....down the frame rail behind the steering box. When I got to the area near the trans crossmember, I had 2 steel braided hoses made to go from the hard lines over to the transmission so there would be some flex to it. From the radiator support forward, I used a stack plate cooler and installed compression fittings in it and plumbed it hard line back to the bulkhead fittings. I'll never have factory lines on a hot rod again after doing it this way! Numbers matching, stock looking cars with no headers,yes.....hot rods,NO!

I assume they make braided line that is rated for trans fluid? I know if you use fuel rated rubber line on auto trans it will fail within months. It attacks and softens the rubber until it ruptures from the pressure. Lee.
When I had a 904 I used braided hydrauic hose, I had a hose shop make them, just had to give the length and what fittings I wanted. It's rated for 3000psi which is way overkill for trans cooler lines but it was the cheapest thing they had that would hold up with ATF.
