shifting into high gear it's as if you start puushing on the brakes,this is during acceleration. whent to the archives, lotta good info in there but nothing addressed this problem, have the trans out, going to go through it to repair and refresh, any particular thing i should look for that might contribute to this problem?thanks for any professional advice.

sounds like 2-3 over lap they talk about..

Shift overlap.. There are a few causes & fixes.. Basically a shift timing issue, it's trying to be in two gears at once...

i read that, BUT we have been playing with this car for 2 yrs. never did this before, so has something broke or gotten pluged?

Mine did that a few years ago. All I did was readjust the shift linkage. I was using a B&M pro stick shifter and a reverse manual valve body. Put trans in 3rd gear and adjust linkage there instead of in first as the directions say. Took care of it.

A good reprogramming kit like the Transgo TF-2 will help eliminate severe overlap.

If you have a 5.0 leaver (or even a 4.2) they will sometimes hang up if out of adjustment.
