I have been told if you use aftermarket caps and line bore and hone you will need to use an undersize chain is this correct? I bought a nice 70 block but some of the original caps were missing so I bought a set of milodon caps and studs. Thanxs

They do make undersized chains in .005 and .010. You could just use a chain tensioner and use the chain you already have.

I've seen the list, but how does that work? The chain is still #35, which means the links are still exactly .375000" apart, and you can only change the number of links in 1/2-link increments?

Well you normally buy the undersized chain and sprockets as a matched set - I believe the the sprockets are machined on a slightly larger diameter

That's a good point. You can buy an undersized chain to use with a standard sprocket set.
