I can see Pikes Peak

I started up my 73 RR clone yesterday - it hasn't been used all year. Brought it over to my compressor to put some air in the tires and thats when I noticed I had white smoke (yes, antifreeze smelling smoke) coming out of the passenger side of the duals. I ran it a while so it would get warm and drove it about a half mile on my dead end street. Still smoking after that. So, about 8 years ago I had a head gasket go and it had causes a HUGE amount of white smoke out the tailpipe, but this wasn't nearly as much. Other than a blown head gasket or cracked head, what else might I be looking at?
It's a 440, '78 vintage, with mostly stock parts except cam, headers, intake, carb.
I could do a compression test - that would show the offending cylinder right?
