I can't tell you mileage, etc, but I can tell you I really like the cam. It pulls well from idle to 6500. It builds lots of torque in my 340. I haven't wound my current motor past 5000, but I had this cam in a 340 years ago and it was great to 6500.

Yeah: I know a few guys that ran them decades ago and they worked great. Choppy idle but they pulled good up to at least 6000RPM.

I ran one in a stock 340 Dart with that cam and it had headers along with an Eddy dual plane intake that looked like an aluminum stock intake and a 650 DP. It was a 318 car and I dropped this 340 in for my girlfriend as it was her car. Left the stock 904 and converter from the 318 eng in the car. It drove real nice and had great low end. And it pulled nice up top for what it was. I ran 13.49 @ 105 on street tires and I mean street tires from 1980 as it would not hook at all. I feel sure with the 105 mph it would have run 12's with slicks and that was capped up. I liked the cam alot. Ron

here is when I get some questions. For same cam I got divided opinions to a 400, taking in mind I will raise compression with pistons, but then it looks good mounted on a SB, with less displacement and stroke, and no more engine build specs posted

I simply don't get it.

I ran that cam in a couple of 340's back in the day. 340 4spd 'cuda, pulled the revs to 6500 and 12's through the lights. Lot's of chop at idle. Loved that hemigrind.

Ran one in a 340 in a 4x4 W150 in the mid '80s, all the usual mods (LD340 Headers, 440AVS, good X heads etc) , was faster than the basically stock 440 (HP manifolds, TRW's, Torker, 750 Holley, factory HP cam) that came after the 340 broke the steel crank. Strong midrange torque in the truck, choppy idle, low vacuum. It was a mean cam.

I run it in my 360 -

stock long block with an eddy street ram and 2 holley 390's on top - 3.23 gears and 26" tall tires

I get 14-16 mpg on the highway - 3400 rpm @ 75
I run 1.74 60'
12.56 was my best et
108 was my best Mph

I pull 9-11" HG at idle in gear / out of gear

I like it.

I still run that cam in my 340. Got nothing bad to say about it. I run about 18 degrees of inital timing and it has great manners for the street.Sounds great at idle. Have no idea about milage. I drove my 340 all over the west this past summer with that cam including to the top of Pikes Peak and in the desert heat of Reno Nv. Car ran great everywhere. I've had this same cam now in three different motors, it's out lasted the motors.

Thanks

This is great feed back on that cam,I am planning on pulling my comp cam out soon and that is the cam i was thinking of.I can get it here at my local Mopar dealer for 198 bucks includs lifters. One Question did any of you have to change to different pushrods or go with adjustable rockers I want to double check because so many of you have run this cam.So can it be installed useing stock pushrods and stock rockers. Thanks Dons Dart.

...wow,i gave up on that post last night after 3 1/2 hours with no response.
now the feedback seems to indicate this is a very good street grind for a warm '340!
........tx a bunch guys.
are we looking at 15 degrees initial with about 9:1 comp?
i have welded the slots in another distributor to reduce mechanical to about 20 degrees.

..you're not going to believe this but i found the paperwork for that build(2004) and that is the cam we used not the .484
i remember the Dart running very strong initially and when i changed to the 3.23's and started fouling plugs i couldn't get it to run right.
as you know i spent all my time on that Duster for the last 3 years, and now that it's finished am back to the Dart.
with these responses it's definately not the cam but the engine tuner...oops did i say that out loud?
oh yah....stock rockers and pushrods with the .474..........al
