There was one here in Asheboro NC that we tracked for awhile- guy wouldn't sell it, it just sat in a carport for about 5 years.. then one day it was just gone... no idea what he did with it....it was a true D Dart....Rumor was it was originally sold out of Ilderton Dodge in High Point.....

I bet the crooked preacher we've talked about snuck in and stole it!

They did come with Doug's Headers. The ones that are on the car now are Stahl's. In the SS&DI article, Ted mentioned that they were going to change the headers to the Stahls. Here's what the original Doug's look like.

I wonder if the new Dougs headers are from slip joint city like the originals?

When it ran in D/Stock, it's best ET was 12.92. Tried to post the timeslip but the file was too large.
The best MPH was 105. Here's the a couple time slips that I got from Ralph Costa.

Another best MPH. Those are Ted Spehar's notes on the time slip.

I had to go look. This combination is listed in the NHRA sheets as currently being legal for Super Stock. It's a natural SS/I class car. With a 10.85 index, it would have to go real low 10's to be competitive.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I nearly had the chance to buy one in the late 80s. A friend of mine decided (with my convincing) that he needed it. Last time I saw he still had it. It's been in relative hiding on the SF peninsula after being rescued from an SF taxi driver, who by the looks of the right quarter, used to park by feel........... If I remember correctly it came from a dealer in Santa Rosa.
