Any one convert from points to one of these PerTronix systems? Do they work good? Thinking of trying so I don't have to mount an ECU box and never to have to deal with points again. Like to hear some input first, Thanxs.

I've been using one since '96 on my Challenger. Works great! I converted my Pontiac with the II version about 5 years ago, and works even better.

Do people use stock coils, or the "flame-thrower"? I've been thinking about converting, but I want to keep the OEM look and would prefer to use my Mopar coil.

You can use either coil, but I chose to go with their black restoration look coil for my rides.

15 yrs with a 40.000 volt flame thrower coil

got about 4 of them in use now..

make sure to use only there rotor button, other ones dont fit as good and can cause problems

I am useing there rotor on the 15 yr old one after changing it...its got 14 yrs on that rotor and no trouble

tune up is cap and wires with plugs

I have been using an ignitor one for 3 years now, no trouble am also using the flamethrower 1.5 ohm coil with a ballast resistor. For a stock look I bypassed the ballast resistor by cutting out the ciol in the back & solderer a wire to the two prongs & pluged in the stock wiring for that stock look.

yes I did the BR bypass also on mine to give a full 12 volts to it

I used a #10 stranded wire and solderd the end and reused the porcilin shell

from the dist the red wire hooks to positive side of coil with keyd hot wire from harness

black wire fron dist to negitive side of coil

very easy and simple conversion, all hiddin under the cap

the red and black wires are the give away to some one that knows what to look for

best $79.00 I spent on the 68 Dart

I been using my ignitor II and coil for about a month, its much better then points.. but i am on my second unit the first ran fine, then the next day wouldnt start no fire.. had to order another unit, somehow the module failed...if i do it again it will be a MP factory unit.

If you leave/ left the key in the run position for more than 20 seconds/overnight you run the risk of burning up the module.
