I'm currently running a 2600lbs duster with me in it. It runs 8.60's with 1.24 60ft. Looking to upgrade the power and was wondering how much can a ladder bar car take before needing to switch to four link? Looking to go in the 7's

Friend Sam use to run high 7's in his 3500lb Heavy Street Chevelle. It was a Kenny Webber built chassis. He switched to a ProCar 4-link chassis a few years ago.

so I'd say atleast 7's. never seen anyone go 6's, but why not? just put the biggest heim joint you can find on the front, like a Johnny Joint

Anything can be done, but that is the hard way. If that is a stock frame car with backhalf and normally aspirated (no power adder), I think you are on the edge at that weight and ET. Are you running a 2 speed transmission, that makes it easier?

you will be fine. Just make sure you change the front ends out every year.

It's a CRT 727 2 X 3 framerails and coilovers with A arms in front. Probably could switch to a glide to calm the launch down.

Hi Ted,

After getting your PM, now I know it is you. You are definitely making some power now. Good luck in your efforts.

Mike Murillo was running 7's on ladderbars 9 years ago. Plenty of cars out there doing it. Is it the best way, probably not but can you do it absolutely.
