This is stemming from the crash video posted by Bigdad..... If something unfortunate happens and you whack a components car..... I've never done it but seen it happen. If it was me I'd offer to help the other guy fix his ride. What do you guys do??? Is this what happens behind the scenes?

In my oppinion and from what I have seen Most people will try and help make things right. I have had a friend get his dragster dented and scratched from a guy on a bike in the staging lanes and the guy paid for the damage. I have also had a friend accidently have his tire fall off the car and roll into another guys car. He was going to pay for the damage but the guy was being a TOTAL Az-hole and the track official heard the comments being said and told my buddy to just leave and not worry about the damage. They signed the form when he entered and that my buddy didn't owe him a cent for the damage. It is up to the people involved but most people will make it right if you don't rape them on the repair costs and handle it in a polite way. Just my

If it's "on track" you pretty much have no recourse. If it's in the pits you have a shot at recovering damages, but you would still have to sue to get anything if they didn't volunteer. I've been very fortunate. I've never even crossed the centerline, or had anyone cross into my lane under power. I did have a guy turn in front of me for the return road down at Assumption once. That made me poop my shorts.

If it happens between the burn-out box, and the timeslip booth, IT'S RACING!! No quarter given, none accepted...this is a big boy sport, if it bothers you, stay off the dragstrip, or get on-track insurance.
If it happens in the pits between two race cars...I've seen 2 pretty bad pit crashes, where it was difficult to determine fault, and in both cases the parties agreed to fix thier own cars.
If it happens in the pits, and someone runs into your stuff while it's sitting, you should take every recourse possible to collect for damages, including having thier privelege to attend races removed.

99.99 percent of people on the planet are human(the rest of us drive mopars)so thats the risk you take.although i would try to help as much as much as i realisticly could.most people already have as much in their cars as they can afford.thats the risk you take
