More info, where you make power, the rest of the combo trans and such would help..FWIW my Hemi was in that power range with a 33" tire and a glide and I ran a 4.30. Car went 8.70's at 155ish that way and I crossed the stripe at 7050. Oh yeah mine was 2920 with me and the Hemi on board.

727 trans, max hp at 7000, max torque at 6000

Then 4.30 sounds like a good choice to me.

i was thinking 4.56 but if i go 4.3 i could probably use 32" tall tire (easier to get) if i would want to.

I was thinking with the TF a .30 might be a better choice. But if you were thinking like a super stock racer then 4.88 might be better, the car will likely be quicker with it, just no as much MPH..Must be the bracket racer in me again.

I'm likely leaving a little bit on the table, I run a 4.10 with a 33" tire. 3000#, 850 hp. I stayed with the 4.10 since I hope to hit it with a little spray in the future. It's done a best of 1.25 sixty but more typical is 1.28 or 1.29 I took out 4.56's when I put in the new motor so I never tried it with any other gear. I have no suggestions since I've never tried any other gear, just providing info as a point of reference.

how much rpms over the line?

I have not made a 1/4 pass since I got the digital box with the logger so I don't have an exact RPM. In fact I've only made one 1/8 pass since the new box. I think around 6700, I shift at 7200. I'm not one to look at gauges at 150 MPH

same car 4.30gear crossed at 7250

I run a 4.56, 33.6 tall tire, torqueflite, 3000lb car, cross at 7400 rpm. Max hp at 6900 to 7000 rpm. I have 440-1 heads, so power is likely to fall off quicker than a hemi?

If it's a hemi 4:89 at least. I'm thinking about going to 5:13
