That's all I've ever used. I also only use teflon rather than rubber (as the hose within the steel braiding) to prevent deterioration over the years that could cause break down and end up with with trash in the lines.

you should be fine #4 = 5/16 which is the stock size.

#6 is 3/8 which is a nice upgrade but the stock fittings in the trans are very small already 1/8 npt and imo need to be enlarged to get the added benefit of the bigger line.

I use #6 line but I use a AN#6 to 1/8 fitting but I
drill the fitting out a little for better flow(dont
go crazy drilling it out... gets weak)

im not saying it is or isn't OK that's what i've used but i do know ATI doesn't want you using it they want teflon. if they find out you've used rubber it will void any warranty

5/16" is actually -5AN. I have used -6 to -5 adapters and hardware to connect -6 flex lines to OEM type 5/16 steel tubing. IMO, -4 is too small. I prefer -6 teflon.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
