Hey guys I have a buddy that wants to build a 474 stroker. He asked me to post about what your combo is, he isn't computer literate. He is interested in connecting rod, piston, cam and cylinder head information. Also dyno and time slip info would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Which type block does he want to use? What bore size and stroke does he plan on using?

I'm currently collecting parts to put a 470 together next spring. I plan on building a low deck with 6.700 rods a 1.30 ch piston and a 3.915 stroke crank. This should give me a little room to have the block decked and get close to a zero deck. I'm going to build mine as close as I can to Andy Fs' 550hp build except with a hydraulic roller. Hope this helps a bit.

Sorry its a 400 block, 3.915 stroke, and probably 4.375 or what ever it takes to clean up the bores. He certainly wants to use off the shelf parts.

Is this a race only motor or street and strip? I have built several motors like that, both B and RB blocks. Does he want to use a Mopar 440 crank to make the stroker or a after market crankshaft? KB sells a forged piston for the low deck using a BB Chevy type after market rod, I don't remember how long though Thumperdart has one that runs pretty good, for a little motor

My friend is getting parts together to rebuild his 470 stroker. He just got the custom Ross domed pistons. I think the pistons were $800+ for the set. I think he has 6.70" H-Beam connecting rods, but I will ask him tomorrow when we are putting my transmission in my car.

Mine is similar to this,

Low deck, 6.700 rods, 1.32 ch and 3.900 stroke and Bulldogs heads.

According to MM compression is 10.02:1
