Trying to figure out what size fuse to use in my trans brake circuit. The wires on the solenoid look so tiny (22 guage??) it makes me think it can't be drawing much current. Does anyone know?

the instructions that came with my Tranz Act brake says the solinoid draws 7 amps and to use a 16 gauge wire or larger with a 25 amp fuse
70 duster full chassis super pro 416 CNC Indybrock heads 727 w/brake
best so far 1.212 60 6.219 in 1/8 at 110.88 9.768 at 137.81 1/4

I have a JW Ultraglide but I don't know who makes the solenoids they use. The wires are so teency small, maybe even 24 or 26 gauge little white wires, just doesn't seem like they could handle much current.

Just checked a 2 wire Glide solenoid the other day while doing some electrical work on a car. 10 amps, don't recall the make, TCI or Trans Specialties maybe. I agree with just using a 30 amp fuse or breaker to keep from burning everything up in case of a dead short.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
