Goldmember, you better check your scales...I have never heard of a car that light without extreme lightening. My 72 dart weighs 3500 with me, aluminum headed small block, full exhaust, and a 75 pound moly roll bar. My buddies 68 dart is lightened a bunch with fiberglass hood, bumpers, and brackets, aluminum interior, one race bucket seat, lexan, aluminum headed 383, and it weighs 3020 with driver. I am sure he could get it under 2900 with more fiberglass, and a moly cage in place of the mild steel one.
I know a belvedere is probably a little lighter than a sport fury, but my big block four speed 65 weighed 4200 with me in it.

My 63 with the 440 goes about 3530 without me and about 3700 with me. Its a full interior stock body with rollbar and frame connectors. My sons Dart with a 400 in it goes about 3550 with him in the car and he is about 180 which makes his Dart just about 3370 without him. Ron

The only place I have ever weighed a car is on the NHRA scales at Bandimere. Still haven't seen a 3000 unlightened car that isn't a 4 banger. Having said that, just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist...It wouldn't be the first time I was incorrect! Maybe cars weigh more at this elevation?

On MIR's digital scales my Challenger weighed 3755#s w/ me (210#s) and a 3/4 full tank of gas. That's a full interior (except for the back seat) w/ rollbar, frame connectors, aluminum heads / intake / w-p housing, manual steering (saves almost 40#s over a power-steering setup), a complete 3" exhaust to the rear bumper, T/A-style fiberglass hood, and some misc. things removed (e.g. bumper reinforcement brackets). Yep, it's heavy... which is why I nicknamed it the MoPig years ago.
