If the track you were a regular at, and by regular I mean every weekend, for a loooong time, has a big race, and the owner of the track, wants you to give up your pit space for someone who has a big flashy rig, and will only show up when there is big $$$$$ for a race, I'm saying only maybe 2 times a season if that?
I have been dealing with this problem this very weekend, and myself and the track owner have been going at it verbally for the last 2 days, it has taken my train of thought out of the race game, and put it out into left field, as I have been hammered for the last 2 nights, it is killing me in track points, and I can't get it off my mind, sort of like a bad case of the runs you can't shake, the situation is getting ugly to a point. I am very superstious, I know that is all in ones mind, but that's the way it is for me, I just can't get over being treated that way, kicked to the side of the road, and was just curious how some of you giy's would handle the situation??????

Ok guy's, here's an update, the pit spot, with me being a former track champion, I have had the luxury of having the spot for a long time, when the opportunity arized I chose a spot at the far end of the race track away from all the BS that goes on, so I could concentrate on my racing, we, myself and the owner had a set down yesterday, about the situation, he profusely apoligized, said he made a mistake in doing what he did, I know all the other regular racers were giving him a hard time about all his bouncing off the wall, this weekend, he gets wound up at something like this.
So I guess for now we will see what happens for the rest of the season, and I will use my free entry the rest of the season, which he bribed me with yesterday.

Dave

I would tell the track owner what you said here. Your a regular, you give him your money on a weekly basis. This other guy just shows up a few times a year.

His track his business he provides for you. It sucks when the big boys come to town and overtake the track but if it helps keep the track open and provide you with a better racetrack what's two weeks in the big picture.

In this case familiarity of your pit spot has inadvertently given all your other opponents a mental edge on you. And who's at fault for that? Just like you never know who you're going to pull up alongside in the other lane, you shouldn't feel comfortable in the same pit spot. Be mentally ready to roll with whatever changes might come your way and still come out on top and that's the mark of a true champion.

I'd probably tell the owner to piss off and go to the next closest place. Or make a deal with him, sure I'll give it up for free entry to every race i have to give up my spot.

What the...?? Are you saying that you PAID for that space, or that's just where you park every week?? If it was paid for, you and the track owner have something to work out, yes...

But this business about it getting in your head and you're getting hammered in the points?? WHAT THE...?? I didn't know one could win rounds BASED ON WHERE THEY PARK! I thought you went there to RACE? NO MATTER who's in the other lane, NO MATTER what? RIGHT??

I know that if I'm in the hunt and don't win the deal, I sure wouldn't want to be heard blaming it on the track owner who gave away MY pit space.

Get your race face on and win this deal! ! ! !

Then after you take the track's money I'd go somewhere else and support THAT track.

If they let me roll in and set up my pit, I aint movin. Period. Unless I am leaving the track. Now, if they have it blocked off or direct me somewhere else when I show up, I am ok with it. But if I set up my pit and they try to make me move, they will have to throw me out first.

pit parking... if not he can ask you to move your rig,
I've been asked to move my rig(at the Nats)... one
