I was just reading a post AL ALGUIRE had put up and he was talking about putting his trans cooler at the rear of his car. I have almost no space at the front of my Duster because of the CSR waterpump, aluminum radiator and electric fan. It is almost too tight of a squeeze to put the transcooler with the electric fan that is mounted to it on the front side of the radiator. Will the trans cooler cool good mounted back toward the rear of the car? Who has tried this? Anyone got pictures?

The cooler doesn't know if its in front or back of the car. Its happy as long as there is cool air moving through it, front or rear! If you think you have a spot in the back for it, great. Keep in mind you want to protect the cooler from debris, so not behind the rear tires,

A buddy of mine has one of those finned Moroso heat sink types mounted next to the trans under the car.

I would definitely be interested in a picture. It is a good size cooler. The part number through summit racing is: PRM-12311
I tried to make the part # a link but was not successful, if anyone else can link it I would appreciate it.

I have a fan on my trans cooler. It is just simply bolted between the frame rails in the rear.

Mine is a finned heat exchanger. I mounted it to my tranny crossmember. I have a tube chassis and I can drop the tranny (727) with the crossmember/ heat exchanger still plumbed to the tranny. No fuss, no messes. I don't have a tranny guage but the fluid is checked everypass. I run8.55 @ 154 Very pleased with this setup.

Here is a crappy picture..Dont mind the ugliness going on it is just mocked up now. We will be dropping it about 3/4", the fan is on the bottom as you can see. We will get it all cleaned up once it is wired and plummed.
This looks like a really good idea. Plenty of room to work with and plenty of space for air to circulate.

I put mine in back over winter. It seems to do fine as long as I remember to turn the fan on. The temp. runs around 180-185 with the fan, but got up around 220 without. I mounted it on the framerail in front of the rearend on the driver side. I also made a block to connect the braided line to and ran steel line to the cooler. If the trans. needs to come out, the lines can be disconnected from the block.
Mine is mounted very similar to yours....no fan and trans temp is always great...

Well, I have already got the one with the S bend. I guess I will have to try it then if it doesn't do good I will get the B&M cooler. Has anyone here run the S bend cooler or similar type to what I have in the picture above?
