Weren't VIN Tags mounted, using "Special" rivets (not your typical Pop-Rivets?)... For when it needs to be remounted....

Then you could glue it back on with the same rivits and no one would know.

Call the CIA,FBI and Alert the Moparts police and have them ALL watch cause if you don't your car will be fake & that you are commiting a felony. I suggest keeping the original dash frame in the trunk and make a vin tag for your new dash that says *CTRUNKCOMPARTMENT*

Well atleast most would say that but go ahead and grind from the bottom and re-use...

no, most would not say that.

nothing even close to illegal/fraudulent about what he is doing.

as said grind off from bottom and reuse rosette heads with some adhesive.

This can't be Moparts... There haven't been a dozen wild accusations of fraud & deceit... So Thief!! Rebody!! Fraud!! OK now that we have that out of the way, Grind the rivits from the back side & use adhesive....

If your Dart is 69 or newer it has vin numbers on the radiator support and under the trunk weatherstrip if vin questions ever come up in the future.

You can also find a pair of rosette rivets on ebay for $25 or so. My tag had been removed so I bought a pair and riveted it back on neatly.

My '72 Dart's dash VIN matches the radiator support and trunk lip stampings, but my driver's door has a sticker from a different Canadian Dart. Could be interesting if a cop looks elsewhere than the dash

And how exactly do you really know that?

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Also agree, GRIND them off, don't try drilling, that will spin the rivet scratching the face of the tag
