I have a friend that I went to the track with, he has a 500in dart with -1 heads, he has a 1050 AED carb and started the jets at 95.. went 10.17 off the trailer, then back up run 10.07 132. Came back and I put 97 in it and ran a 10.03 135. I'm just wondering how big you guys are run.. The timing is set at 36.. Is there any room for movement... thanks..

Jet for MPH and watch for the weather affects at the same time. Is this a new motor and first time out? if so don't change anything until it settles in, some BB Mopars motors take as many as 12 runs before they will qiut getting faster

No, its been together for about 4 years, but only has maybe 15 to 20 runs on it. He wants that 9 second time slip.. It picked up almost 4 mph with the jet change ....

Only one way to find out I like 34 to 36, not all BB Mopars are the same, try 34 and then try 38 at the track the same day. look closely at the plugs, at least two, and then the ET slip, all of it

Yep, If it reacted that well to your jet change then I bet it wants more. Only one way to find out. Let it eat. If you get to the point were more jet won't speed it up or slow it down then something else is metering the fuel. At that point you need to look at the entire fuel system from tank pickup to carbs to find the restriction.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

John my combo is identical. I've only got 3 full 1/4 mile passes(9 1/8 mile passes) on it but every time I jet up it goes faster, I'm up around 96 or 97 jets right now. I bumped the timing around and it seemed to run the same ET anywhere from 34-38 so I left it at 34.

I'm up to 97/98 with a Cubic 1150 Dominator on my 540 at 34-35 timing. I'm still thinking I can go more by the EGT.

Similar setup maybe [14-1] 1150 dom 100 square, C-14. 38 timing. Rarely change the jet.
