JACKSON OP member J Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 169 Nazareth,Pa.	i just got my new megablock and 572-13 indy heads CNC'd not the biggest 572's heads, Callies crank, .789 cam motion roller cam, T & D rockers 1:7 ratio, msd crank trigger, ati balancer, jeff johnson billet oil pan, titan oil pump, indy 440-25 inline crossram , indy valley cover,with 2 edelbrock 800 carbs anybody out there run a similar combo, looking to find out what there best time. i remember seeing a few guys on here with this combo but cant seem to find out anything on this topic lately, any help thanks Larry

I don't run anythng near what you have but I want to some day With that said I'm guessing you are going to run some kind of 62-65 car in NSS and I have seen similar combo's to yours run anywhere from 9.20's to 9.70's depending on weight and set up. Get it real light and set up right and I can see very low 9's or better. Details on what you are putting it in and the balance of the combo would be nice (rear/converter/gears/size slicks and all) What are YOU expecting it to run? Russ

dvw master Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 9,835 MI, usa	Lens 63 Plymouth that Gary Jacob drives has gone I believe 9.07@149. It ran mid 9.20@145 at the 131 Chrysler Classic. 3700lbs w/caltracks. I may be off on the numbers a little but they're close. I'm building a similar combo but with -1 heads. 15-1,.799 Comp 4/7 swap,1.7 T&D,Jessel,Indy X-Ram. Hopefully 3300lbs or a little less. I'm looking for similar results. Doug

Anonymous Unregistered A	i have almost the same combo, now going low 9's with my new slicks 31 x10.5w x15 4.56 gears, ladder bar car now but went 9.29 with caltracs. 3317lb dodge coronet. what are you building, i live pretty close to you.

Anonymous Unregistered A	switching from 750 carters to 800 edelbrock carbs made no difference at all with the combo. im wondering going to a 8" converter from a 9.5 will hurt the combo?

Never ran it out in the 1/4 cause of safety of old NON cert thin wall chassis. Heavy home built deal which was about 2290 including driver. Car went 144 mph in the 8th mile with a best backed up 1.07 60ft. Easy mid 7's 1/4 mile junk. I better look in the trailer, I think you stole my motor You actually played a role on the choice for this engine combo. Dewayne Porter gave me some direction, said your engine was a nice combo. It didnt make sense to max out a new Indy Maxx block the first go around...So Instead of the 4.5 bore, I went with the 4.44, leaving me a few over bores or in case a wrist pins decides to say high to the wall LOL. I know sleeving is a option, but its pretty $$ buying sleeves then having them installed. Heck of alot more than a set of pistons. Baxter61 top fuel Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 2,495 Oregon City, OR	Ive run something similar, its a 8:1 360 with 587 j heads and a comp xe274h with an eddy air-gap. oh, its got a holley 750 on it. went 13.65 at 98mph but wasnt tuned right. hope this helps!
