Well I will tell you my converter bolt story but you wont like to hear it. A few years back mine kept coming loose and after a couple flexplates and aggravation the crank ended up breaking. I think the crank being cracked was loosening the bolts...

There have been numerous previous threads about converter bolts working loose and I don't think there was ever a common consensus as to why some do and most don't.
My suggestion for problematic bolts has always been to drill the bolts for safety wire.

I use red locktite and I use a impact to tighten them, on a small block I can get to them in the starter area... I give them a couple of hits with the gun... dont go crazy

start with new converter bolts, spray brakekleen in converter holes, red loctite and after you get bolts tight, hit vthe wrench with a hammer for extra torque, you probably didnt go tight enough. pictures care of the HEMITIS archives
