I have a set of Wiseco pistons on BME rods and I need to remove the rods. They have the CS25 pin retainers,Retainer Width/Wire Diameter .042.And I am not sure how to remove them. It looks like they are wrapped about 4 rounds. The only way I see to remove them is to take a small screw driver and pry the outer wire out and just unwrap them.

Is this the correct way to remove them? I do not want to ruin them. Thanks
