I have a 73 challenger with a 440 with indy heads.. The car is backhalf'd and a 4 link with coil overs and wheelie bars.. The car weighs 3280 WITHOUT the driver and I WISH I could get my 60' in the high fourties... I also have a 5000 stall and a 4.56 gear...33.5X 14X 15 goodyears that DO NOT like to be warmed up too much and the car runs 10.30's at 132 mph.. I think your 60's are where they supposed to be....UNLESS your car weighs 2800lbs!!!
his 60's are not that bad. but if you can't get in the 40s with your combo something is bad wrong. for one you don't have near enough gear with a 33.5" tire. and probably could use a lot more converter. heck we had 1.53 60's with a small block, stock leafs, running on 2bbls of the carb.

What seems strange is that the et and mph look good for one another, but the 60 doesn't match. I would think at that et and mph, the 60 would be in the low 1.4's. I can tell you first hand, this Dart is not even close to 2800 lbs. I wouldn't be suprised if its at least 3400 without driver. All steel, full stock interior, full cage, extra rubber on the rear quarters, etc.

he could possibly be a little better, I would be looking at the tire and converter. put a real slick on it and see what it does.

I think a 5000 convertor and a 5000 launch chip and a 3500lb car (with driver) could be MOST of the problem.. I also degree'd my cam to wake up around 3000-3200 (102 centerline) so MAYBE the motor isn't making the right torque at 5000 rpm launch...???????? WHADDAYA THINK????
could be, but I would have 5600-5800 converter in that thing. 5000 is no where near enough.

As others have said, the 60 foot is WAY off for what the car runs. I dont think 5500 flash could be WAY off for your motor but without the rest of the combo its impossible to say...heads, compression, cam, carb, etc??? As an example i have a WAY cheezier suspension on my 3350 pound car than you, stock 002/003 leafs and 39 dollar 3 way shocks on all 4 corners, and i go 1.34 best and no worse than 1.38 generally regardless of air, with a tiny tire. So you are giving up 12-15 hundreds somewhere in the first 60 foot. That could equate to double than on an ET slip if you get it sorted out.. You almost need to video the launch to see what is going on, and tweek from there. Rome wasnt built in a day, and getting a car to 60 foot is an incremental process. Before throwing a convertor at it, a video to see what the car is doing would likely be more helpfull. Maybe something in the combo is adversely affecting the car getting out of the gate. post everything about the car, if you would

When my Challenger was running 10.60's it was 60' in the 1.40's and would hit 1.50's on bad days. Now it goes 1.35 everywhere. I have a converter that flashes to 5000 and I footbrake my car.
