This is killing me... The correct term for the sockets and wrenches you are describing are 12 point or 6 point. The fact that you don't know this tells me you are in over your head and you should find some local help. If you are determined to do this yourself, get some 6 point sockets. If you wanna round off (strip) a fastener (bolt or nut), use a cheap 12 point socket. Garranteed to strip it every time. A good quality 6 point tool will get the job done. If it's really tight, you may need to add some additional leverage, but use caution. Using two tools together for added leverage can lead to busted knuckles.

man, some people never had a dad,but had uncles, wish I was close I would do it for ya pops the socket with many dents will work, just got to be carfull, being a little strong and younger dont hurt..never had a problem using the wrong terms but know how to use tools,12 points is just as good,as a 6 point, yes 6 points grabs better..must be nice to not do it the hard way we are all one tool away from greatness is it a tail shaft housing bolt? try a little cheater bar, maybe, going to a 1/2" drive might help you leverage it better got an air gun?I use a 3/8 drive one to take stuff loose,if that dont work I jump on it with the 1/2"drive gun if all else fails..like usally does..I use leverage OH!,"again"..would be the skoolin on correct terminology...its a throttle control cable ya workin on.. and Bouchillon works better was the

My apologies for insulting your intelligence. That was stupid of me.
You really answered your own question in your first post-you need a socket with "fewer indents", which I tried to explain in my previous post. While 12 point sockets will work fine in many circumstances, when working with stuborn bolts, a 6 point socket provides superior grip to get the bolt loose. And like I said before, leverage is key. I know it's difficult laying on your back underneath a car, but that is where creativity comes in. Been there, done that. You just gotta look at the situation and figure out what you need to do to get the job done. Unfortuantely for you, there is nothing that we can do online that will get that bolt out for you.
Good luck.
