I've seen some pretty crazy prices on '58s because of Christine. I didn't think the '57s were as valuable.

In 58, you could get the one year only 350, so knuckle-dragging Chevy guys think it's something they would want, too.

I watched the video.
Was that lady in charge getting ready to cry??? Give me a break
In the video it shows worker frantically putting up privacy plastic on the fence to keep anyone from seeing inside. I'm sure they're going to peek inside the car's plastic covers to see just how stupid they are going to look.
Their best bet is to yank the rotted car out of the hole and get Foose to come in and do a Overhaulin' episode ASAP

that wasnt the lady in charge, it was the little girl who you see in the pics, sitting on the hood of the car before it was buried, they went to the touble of finding her and involving her in the festivities, and if you had put so much into something, just to see it turn out like that, you'd be crying too, i think.

Win Lose or Draw I really hope they leave the car in the condition it is. I have been looking forward to seeing this car come out of the ground. I never even gave it a second thought that the case would fill with water. . I think of all the people in 1957 who really did what they thought was right to make this car survive. I really hope this doesn't take away from the celebration or the reason it was put there in the first place.I would love to be there to see the old girl and to think of all the people this car has touched in one way or another.

Ok we get it, your not interested in the hype surrounding this. Is your life so sad and boring that you have to continue to come here and make stupid comments and take digs at people? Sheesh.

Maybe they can put it in the Chrysler museum in a sealed glass enclosure and fill it with Nitrogen.

I've been searching the net and I can't seem to find any new info on it. I guess they're keeping the condition of the car pretty quite, but I'm suprised something hasn't leaked out yet.

So whats the latest today? I assume they have the water pumped out. Are they waiting til tomorrow to unwrap the car? Is it just sitting there drying out or what? Why is there not a Tomb webcam or something! Come-on!!!

Can you imagine the stench if not in a sealed container?

I guess today they're preping it to be lifted out. The need to make sure that the skid under it that was used to lower it in will still be able to support it. I haven't found any info on whether or not they're planning on unwrapping it there or at the convention center.

Also, remember that the skid under it is made of steel, so there is a chance (however slight) that the rust on top of the car is from that and not the car.

Here's to hoping for the best.

This baby's part of Oklahoma and Tulsa history. She needs to remain right here IMHO.

You know, after all this, watch the car be no worse for wear than a crinkled in roof, hood and decklid!

If those bags are thick and sturdy and properly sealed, there's nothing that could have potentially ripped them. So, if even 1 of the seals held, the car should be ok!

Too bad they didn't cover the walls of the tomb with tar and make sure the top was properly sealed. I'd be willing to bet it was the lid seal that gave up.

Someone mentioned earlier that it was vacuum sealed! Is that true?? If all three layers were vacuum sealed and again, those seals held.... that baby should be A-ok!

Guess we'll find out tomorrow!

There was one video where some old guy who was around when it was burried said that the wrap was lying the same way it was in 1957.
