Anybody got a couple pics of the correct seat back latches (front bench only) in a 69 and 70 b body. Are they different? Does it depend on the level of upholstery (doesn't this determine which headrest the car got too?). I have recently looked at two seats, both had different latches (one plastic, one chrome) but both were on the seat back about 2/3 way up from the bottom. One was in a 69 Coronet, one came from a 70 Satellite.

The buckles for 69 and 70 appear the same, but are not. There are a couple of small details that set a 69 and a 70 buckle apart. If you saw a plastic buckle, with a push button in the center of it, then that was more than likely a deluxe belt, and those were available for the 1970 model year, in any bodied car. Below is a photo of some 1970, standard buckles. I have no pics of any deluxe buckles at this time. 69440

Thanks for the reply, but I was referring to the latch that lets the front seat lean forward so occupants can get in the back seat. Sorry for not being clear.

68 and 69 are down low, at the bottom of the seat back near the door.

70 is up high on the side of the seat.

At least that is what I think I know after lots of arguements on this with various folks.

That's correct, 68/9 are the same and 70 is a one year only deal.

This is a better picture showing the hardware (springs and retainier clips). I believe a plastic washer should also be used on each side....service manual shows blowup of this installed. Good luck...I looked for almost a year to find the set shown....got them from a friend who went to a salvage yard (Yikes).
