unless a great deal comes along on a bigger rotating assm.hers my plan, world bolck, unless a deal shows up for an alternative.my rotating assembly witch is eagle 415 crank h beam rods, and some good blower pistons.my main question is are the 1- heads OTB a good candidate for this application and woul;d a full port job be of any benifit.its a street strip,69 gtx 4,129 lbs.auto.i dont have a blower yet but im looking at a hampton 1471 with future upgrads in mind.

i figered i could under drive it for now but eventually im going to build a 572(HEMI?) and really dont want to regret not getting the blower i want.big diff in price between 871 and 1071 but after that its not much more.but we,ll see ,if i think an 871 will get me where i want to be without getting to hot i may just settle for that for now.

that would probably only push my barge into the low 10,s??im runnin 11.70,s now with my simple 496.is that a 9.14 with a street pully or could it be over driven for more? id really like to build a dual purpose mill.im not easy on my cars and really dont get into the show stuff.id like to see nines at the strip.and then be able to tone it down for the street.mabey im thinkin wrong but i figered if i had a bigger blower under driven it would run cooler on the sreet.as you have prob.figered out i dont know squat about blowers, just tryin to figerout my best options before i start buyin parts.

great info, does 10 pounds of boost equate to the same power gain reguardless of blower size?

basicly on my motor with an 871 id be pushin it at 10 lbs without going to race gas or an intercooler.would there be any advantage of runnin a bigger blower at the same boost, like for heat, and timeing retard.

I'd think for a dual purpose application based on some of YOUR stated concerns, you should consider an E-85 blow-thru carb'd centrifical blower.

as a racer you know porting is always good to go faster.CFM=HP X atmosphere ratio[14psi = 2x HP with the same temp]just a guess but i think it would take 20 CFM porting to lower the boost psi 1 lb and that may be 20*F per lb psi.just trying to giving you things to think about.
