Why and how does it make more power?

Is this something worth looking deeper into on a 12 to 1 small block with 34* total advance that only turns in the low 7k range?

I have asked this question here and YB without any real solid replies. The Holley pro strip ignition system in my junk allows me to change the timing every 500 RPM.There are parameters of retard for nitrous oxide and boost.Someone should do some research on the dyno with more advance in the lower RPM range ramping down to 7500 to 8500 RPM.

HEMI-ITIS has no cure.
My condition is fully BLOWN!!

Must be a tuff question cause its very head specific , For my stuff W5s there are not too many shops that mess with them, looks like more trial and error testing

I was going to try it but never got around to it, I
was going to put a micro switch on my shifter so it
would activate in high gear only then go to a rpm
chip to engage it at that rpm to a retard box,
but never got to it yet.... I only have a 7 AL-2 box
unlike the fancy digital boxes

I've played with it on my 11.2 to one 34 degree 4" stroke smallblock.....never found any conclusive results.

I've taken out from 4 to 10 degrees once I hit high gear, via my Digital 6 plus MSD box.

No real difference in ET or MPH using the switch.

I've even tried launching at like 38 degrees and taking out 4 degrees to get back to my normal 34 degrees total.....no difference on the time slip.

The biggest gain would likely be from a long piston dwell engine..

It doesn't make more power. The spark setting in high remains what it should be - but it allows more advance in the lower gears which may improve your 60.
