Hi,
I bought through Summit Racing a Zoom HP1647-1 - Zoom High Performance Clutch Kit and installed it into a 1965 Hemi Coronet with a 23-spline 4-speed transmission.
After the first start at the strip after trying to change into the second gear the clutch was blocked. I could not change any gears anymore...
I opened the dust cover and saw that one of the 3-fingers of the pressure plate moved over the Throwout Bearing. While installing the clutch I got the impression that the 3-fingers of the Beck and Borg-type pressure plate were too short or the diameter of the throwout bearing too small!
(1) Please can you explain me why this happened.
(2) Did I do anything wrong while installing the clutch?
(3) What do I have to check that this does not happen again?
Your help is appreciated!
