Excellent pic John! I can see what looks like a C-clip and the black seal that it backs up to. How does that adapter come out of the trans?

take the hold down clamp off note the dot and the #s that referance the # of teeth on the plastic gear so it goes back in correct the dot and the mark go together like in the pic and there is an o-ring on the plug that goes in the tranz

Hey I have removed the speedo adapter and pulled the speedo gear out of it....how do I remove the spring and black seal inside of the adapter so that it wont leak when I put it back together ? I am trying this on a spare trans that I have in my garage first but when I remove the adapter on the one in my car should I go ahead and drain the trans fluid out first because it will come gushing out when I take the speedo adapter out? Keep the info coming guys you are great! I am learning new stuff every day with this car!
