Solid mounting makes the trans part of the chassis structure, less of a problem if the chassis is very rigid but solid mounting in a flexy chassis can cause case flex and broken parts.

I'd get a poly mount from Imperial Services.
But, he needs it before next year...
Reed, if ya need/want it get it directly from John Cope.

So is it cool to solid mount the trans tail in a full tube chassis car with front and mid motor plates?
I have a full tube chassis with a front and mid motor plate with a solid trans mount and have had zero problems so far it 60 fts at 1.40 running 6.5x in the 1/8 pulling the fronts about a ft off the ground.
I'm gonna say you;ve been lucky so far.... ALL chassis's flex, its just a matter of how much and when they flex the engine and trans dont stay on the same center line.... remember your old math class... 2 points are in a line... add a 3rd and it doesnt mean its on the same line, specially when you add flex

Just and FYI but I ordered an early B-body to late trans poly conversion mount from Schumacher and had it in 2 days. It was the Imperial sourced mount. Cope is good too.
