I guess I expected better, since this is supposed to be the best. I ordered all new harnesses for my 71 B project. I just checked two of them tonight and both are not correct when compared to my originals and the wiring diagram. I'm I expecting too much. The harnesess are still functional but in a few years when and if i have to troubleshoot they won't agree with the book. 1. 2 speed wiper motor. In the picture the red and brown wires are switched. The two wires going to the resistor are brown instead of red. And the harness is 3 inches longer than my original. Now the red and brown wire carry properly at the other end so it should work OK. 2. B/U lamp harness. They have a violet wire instead of black. Again this is compared to my originals and the diagrams. I'm afraid to check the other more complicated ones. I'm gonna call them tomorrow to see what they say. Anyone else notice this???

I appreciate you posting this. I didn't even think to look at the wiring, I just looked at the connectors. I'll double check mine as well.

Guys, make sure you check any harness. A friend just got one for his 71 RR clone, and they had some bad stuff mixed up! If it had not been checked, it would have caused bad things. I'd never heard of such issues, and would not have thought of having to do this, but now I will! I don't know who did his, so this is not directed to any company in particular.

Some will say that NOS are no better than used, but in my experieince I have never found a bad one that's been in dry storage in original packaging.
I did have a 71 B body NOS dash harness in the package, that was found after install to have been "assembled/wired" incorrectly by the "vendor"....it was later corrected using a factory manual......NOS isn't perfect either, M&H makes some rather nice harnesses, and I sure they make mistakes as well,.....I'd rather trust a M&H "new" harness, even if it needs correction, than an old 30-40 year old harness/wiring,....seen too many people lose cars to electrical fires over the years than I care to remember

So have I, which is why I am an advocate of replacing all original used wiring when doing a restoration even if it "appears" to be in mint used condition, but I've never seen a newly installed NOS harness fail or cause any problems, only old original used ones.
Personally I don't think you'll have anymore issues with an unused NOS harness than you would with a brand new reproduction (regardless of the vendor). It's a non issue anyway since finding complete nose to tail NOS wire harnesses set these days is almost an impossibility.

I'd call M&H directly (not Year One) and speak with Tom. He is very passionate about the products, a real car guy, and when I had questions on their harnesses I bought a few years ago for my 69 R/T he was top-notch to speak to.
He seemed very interested to know if there was any issue with quality or accuracy.
Darren
Oh yeah... and then come back and report on your experience, GOOD or BAD!

when a few years ago i bought a tach harness for my a12 superbee, when it came in it was too short, it was for the standard nonralleye dash, but the ralleye dash tach is on the far left and standard dash is on far right, M & H made it right, and sent out a new one right away, they are good guys.

I could not agree more. If there was a production problem, he will want to know. Let us know what he says.
Good luck, Randy

Norm, you need to speak to TOM! He has helped me out with a few wiring issues. He's a GOOD GUY!
