Good luck! I REALLY hope to see some video clip of your run if possible. Hopefully you hit some mid 9 seconds at least for beginning What gear you run and what stall converter you have? My car combo is similar of yours... One more time - good luck!

He is figuring to zing it 8500-8800 or so, he is hoping it has ENOUGH gear
BTW that 735 ponies was with a 390 carb on it ..it has a carb shop 950 on it now
that dyno was done at Arringtons shop....
Scott took one of the heads off and had a guy pretty famous around these parts(Jerry Arnold)flow it, and it stopped just a smidgen short of 400cfm
Sounds like you have an old Busch/Truck motor (those 390's really flow over 600), with a restrictor plate cam, did you already dyno to 8800 rpm with that 248/258 cam?

That is what he has
Not sure on the dyno info i know that is what Arrington told him, but not sure about where it made what power at.
Will be interesting to see how it runs and how the convertor he has will work.

It's the other side (springs) I'd be concerned with, those old plate motors didn't turn that kind of rpm.

he actually went 135.60 mph the car laid down the last couple of hundred feet and trapped at 8700 from the look of things, it appears that a trap of 8000 will be in the cars wheelhouse. he is going to take the 5.13 gear out and put some 4.56 gears in before next week, should get it real close. he left at only 3400 from the line, and short shifted it into second gear, not sure he was going to run it out on the first and only pass. my opinion is that with the correct gear, good air, and leaving at 4500 ish(and considering he hasnt even looked at jetting or put a timing light on it)the car should dip into the 9.40's rather easily with an electric water pump on it. not to bad with that little 248@50 "puppy" cam in it..........mighty impressive, and as they run those things on 100 octane fuel, and he was running 110 in it, i have no doubt it will like a little more timing than the 30-32 degrees we suspect it had in it last night....he was happy, and considering the frontend is a custom one off piece, to go straight down the track and have the car hook on a 28 inch tire was impressive.....

Great to hear. Nice numbers, especially 60` time! As we dont still have no special race track ( covered with this "glue" ) here where I live, we are useing old airfields for racing, then I want to ask that on what kind of race track you were? Was it "covered with glue" Hopefully you understand what I mean... You may take a look of our race track conditions here : http://dragracing.ee/pictures/v/Speedest+Nightrace+2009/?g2_page=1Just seems to me that 60` time is impressive with 10,5" slick. How much you think helps water pump swap from mechanical to electric? Did someone made vid clip maybe?
