You'll hear ten different ideas.. Good Luck figuring out what works... I've done all kinds of fillers, polyester, fiberglass, all metal... In the end tig welded it solid, cut a piece of sheetmetal to fit in the trought, tig welded it in solid, then filled the majority of the remaining area with lead... Throughly tinned, throughtly neutralized everything.. Sealed the lead then did final finishing with Polyester finishing putty... Did two Challengers this way, three of the four seams are perfect, one has a small crack showing, I suspect I missed some contaimination under the lead..

The way the factory did it, it will always crack. It is a weak point that flexes. I have always seen convertibles, even our 71 Buick GS convert, cracked in the same location.

Can someone attach a picture of this crack?

on hard tops the place is very visable and a groove. on vets it is filled in. It is where the quater panel meets the section forward of the trunk.
