I've recently learned that some late '80s early '90s half ton trucks had provisions for the late model hyd. clutch setup, AND the 833 bolt pattern. Cutting a small hole for the crank pickup sensor would be cake. The only problem is finding one.

What about the NP A535 bellhousing used in '92 dakotas? The 535 (or NV2500) also uses a 23 spline input shaft, which doesnt really matter anyhow, but it looks to have the same (close?) pattern as an 833 4 gear. Too bad it's only a 130T flywheel, which would create a problem for the tone ring, seeing as how Magnum V8's only used 143T flywheels.

Anyone have knowledge on this subject at all? A little fab work is ok, but whats the best option for putting a 4 speed in an otherwise stock '92+ mag truck?

Thanks.

You can rig up your own hydraulic clutch system by having an aftermarket slave cylinder actuate the clutch fork. That way you don't have to worry about finding a bell with provisions for a stock clutch, just have to worry about making the crank sensor work.

But will the OEM clutch MC and revervoir work with an aftermarker slave?

Making the crank sensor work will be nothing more than cutting a whole in the new bellhousing. Mag crank sensors bolt onto the engine block.
