How much oil pressure should there be compared to shaft oiling...I just primed my engine with a drill and only showing 30lbs pressure.

I have crower cutaway lifters in an unbushed mega block that i was told would work with bushings or not.

Also have manton pushrods with 30 thousand hole that is suppose to keep the pressure up.

I know all of my shaft oilers would hit 75 psi almost instantly with the drill but that was using solid body comp lifters.

1) What weight oil?
2) What are the Main and rod bearing clearances?
3) What are the side clearances on the rods?
4) Did you double check to make sure the P/R holes ARE .030?
5) What oil pump ? ( new or used, if used, are there any scratches in the end cover plate?
6) A good oil filter on there when priming right?
7) How big is the cam and did you check ( look down the galleys to make sure the oil band is staying in alignment during lift?
8) Is it a standard base circle cam?

Try rotating the motor over while priming and see if the oil pressure goes up and down If so you probally have a lifter problem exposing the oil galley at high lift Been there, done that
