I am considering using mopar performance valve springs #P3690993 on a set of 516 heads for a 440 rebuild. Can I use the stock retainers on this spring? If not, what should I use?

Mike

Do the stock retainers hit tightly into the springs? If not , NO I wouldn't use them .

Do you mean #P3690933 valve springs? If you do then I don't see a problem as I have them on 3 of my engines with stock retainers.

Don't forget to check and adjust installed spring height when assembling the heads
