The biggest problem with throwout bearings today seems to be in the low quality grease they are filled with. It's just doesn't do the job, and the nature of the design makes it difficult to wash out the cheap grease and refill it with a high quality grease.

Andy I always thought the smaller bearing was used on the factory style 3 finger plate and the larger bearing was used on the diaphragm style plate. Some companies probably sell the larger bearing as a one fits all so they only need to stock one bearing. Gus
