You can pretty much see the attitude change of the Trooper in his pursuit driving, when the Motorcycle actually begins to elude. Trooper feels he has been "dissed" or something. Some people are just bad, some people make stupid mistakes. They will always be around. If that angers you, get another job.
It's commonly known when a person becomes angry for any reason, they are on a very slippery path to becoming very stupid and suffer from tunnel vision, and a well-trained professional that is capable of using legally deadly force should be able to self-recognize that decline, as the outcome is seldom good.
And Innocent lives are put at risk.

The trooper didn't become angry. His driving changed because the guy on the bike started trying harder. The trooper didn't start getting aggressive until dispatch gave him the go ahead to stop him if he had the chance. If he really didn't care about anyone's safety he had lots of chances to take the bike down but he didn't because there was traffic around.

If for a relatively minor offense, not worth the risk of creating greater disaster.
So police should match the speeds of any fleeing suspects?
Yea sure; until an innocent gets t-boned, then it's the police faults.

Attempting to outrun a cop on a Harley?????? Not gonna work unless the cop car has a maximum top speed of like 75mph. That was funny when Backwards Ballcap Billy went flying off the bike.

Another very entertaining one from GSP and a sherriffs department pursuing a motorcycle a few years ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqItymtsgxg&t=517s

Edit: I was told the reason the cop at the end that's yelling "no, no, no"! thought he might've run over the biker.

I wonder what action will be taken on the foul mouth trooper? work shruggy

Hopefully none.
IMO, IF any action were to be taken against the officers, it would be for throwing an injured person into a cruiser prior to being evaluated by an EMT.

Yeah, don't blame the idiot who started running from the police in the first place.
We can't go blaming the criminals.

Having a good friend who did get t boned by an officer who thought his lights allowed him to run through an intersection at 105 without pause cost her her unborn child so ive mixed thoughts.

At times I feel in the right situation with good cameras and plate readers why not just park at the offenders house on some of the pursuits that are not a major crime. Does that mean I feel they should get a pass.... no.

If some of the police departments policies did not have to be made public I feel they could internally make better rules on some pursuits but as long as the bad guys know who they will chase and who they will not so they need to get them all, or at least all they can.

Running through an intersection with red light without clearing it first is unacceptable! I'm sorry for your friend's loss, truly tragic and unforgiveable. When I say I'm for pursuing, I don't mean at all costs; no "Hunter" style driving up on sidewalks, etc. There has to be guidelines for sure. In my mind, pursuing for "traffic charges only" never happens because once they fail to stop for an Officer for a traffic violation, the charges are now far more serious.

That reply is a perfect example of back-assward "logic."

Lawlessness begins when you don't chase the criminals.
