so about midnight last night, I bought a dana 60 rearend housing that had been is a shed since 1975. told it was from a 1969 roadrunner and it measured up correctly. I've been looking on the pass side tube for a date, but I cant see anything. is it possible that it didn't have one or it's in a different area on the housing?

Those aren't stock caps, maybe a direct connection/mopar performance housing. previous owner added Mark Williams reinforcement caps. Said to help with the weak points in the dana's.

[quote=AndyF]See if you can get the housing dipped. That would probably be the easy way to clean it up.
finding a place like that in California for that size and with the states strict environmental laws and costs, would be easier to just do it at home. Can you get Evaporust in Cali , making something that you can put the rear in them using a few 5 gal pails would probably do it , I have a dana 60 that's been sitting out in the elements for far too long that needs a dip and I think this is how I will tacle it , at least the inside ?
