Looking for a way out of Middl...
I bought a few parts. In particular this horn button.

The parts do not fit quite right but I want them to fit for the project I have in mind.

As you can see the Cuda insert doesn't fit in the horn pad if you line up the holes.
I am wondering if anyone has else run into this?
Is the Cuda from something else, maybe a 60's model dash/door logo and not from a rim blow horn button?
Is it a 70 button and 71 Insert not fitting together (or vice versa)?

I can cut stuff and glue it but I would rather not.

Also is the horn button on the rim blow wheels squishy in the center or is there a support piece I need to make?

I 3D printed the 3 bolt ring around the outside already.

I may have to slot the holes but if I can get a different logo and not damage this button I would prefer to. These parts are getting harder to find and maybe someday somebody will need it to restore their car.

That is where I am a little confused.
I have never had a rim-blow wheel nor a center button to compare it to.

It looks like the pins would fit the holes but when you put them in, the logo simply doesn't line up. Nothing appears bent or out of place.

It seems like it would be retained by the long pin but I have no idea as to how.

shruggy

It's been a while since I had a Cuda fish cap but I'm thinking possibly you have a repop emblem with an original cap insert? At some point in 71 they did away with the Dodge bullseye and the Cuda fish caps to save money and just offered the non-fish cap across the board so I don't think it's a 70 vs 71 thing. Also there should be a metal disc that goes between the insert and the ring with the allen heads, like this one on ebay-

Edit: I'm not up on all of the A-body stuff but it looks like they had an emblem on the 68-9 center cap too, maybe that explains the long pin.
