SattyNoCar OP Smarter than no class Flappergass by a mile Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 16,813 Between Houston & Galveston TX	She had a hard fall back on Dec 3rd. While she did not break anything, other issues came about, but this was not the outcome we expected. She was 79. Part of the reason I sold my wagon was to focus on her as I became her caregiver. My time with her as such was too short. Pic is from 2019 when I took her up to Budweiser's Warm Springs Ranch to see the Clydesdales. We were supposed to go back, but Covid and other issues prevented it from happening. sigh John The dream is dead, long live the dream.......😥

I think about my parents every day many times - my oldest brother too. I keep telling myself that everybody goes through this - it helps. No Man With A Good Car Needs To Be Justified

It is easy to underestimate all the emotional issues, especially finding “good homes” for the items your mother felt special about and your gut will tell you she would be unhappy about not going to a friend or relative. Do not beat yourself up about not being perfect at sorting out every thing.

For me, what's making it difficult too is that I moved in with her, so this is where I live now. Not having a place of my own, I have no way to give myself some distance from the emotions I'm feeling. I hardly slept last night. Thank you everybody for the kind words. Tough to bear being in her home & surrounded with her mementos. My Mom's been gone for a few years, and I've kept most of the family stuff, as I was nearby & involved in care. At this point, it brings pleasant memories. If you feel you need a break, maybe a short road trip to clear your head is in order.
