Here are some pics of the start of the 2009 SB mopar. Vic Bloomer and I am working on this year. I was not going to do this but I could not sell last years engine and Vic and I had alot of fun. So with some help for vic on new crank, rods and intake here we go again LOL.
Engine will be Bigger this year.
3.792" crank by 4.070" bore (BIG thanks Vic)
11.3to1
I will be making big changes to the heads and intake setup from last years engine.

Every time? Come on.

Maybe we will bend the needle on that DTS this year.

So what are the rules this year? I can't find them any where, cept a few very general ones

I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!

Looks good, but can someone answer me why they use a dial indicator instead of a specialized mic? I've never understood this unless for some reason you wanted to measure stretch while you were torquing, which I don't see how you can in that setup...

Dial indicators are used extensively on snap-gages, throughout
the machining industry for tolerances down to at least .0001" It's
much quicker and highly accurate. I've used them for years.

The real nice ones yes, but a standard indicator (like the one pictured) is only good down to .0005. The crappiest mics out there are good to .0001. I'm not seeing the logic, I guess it's just faster with a DI...

it's possible that whatever information you've learned from books doesn't correlate exactly to what actually works for the hands on mechanic.
for example, you have to separate accuracy and resolution when it comes to mic's and indicators. a given mic might only read to .001 (i have a couple of Starret's that way)but with great accuracy. an "experienced" user can read that mic to within .0001 the same goes for dial indicators. stretch guages like the one shown are far superior than using a given torque value for critical components like rod bolts.

Brett- I didn't know you had the bottom end together already. Definitely much farther ahead than you were last year!
